Street Photography - Talk by Nikt Wong

Mr Nikt Wong will share his experiences in shooting on the streets in various countries. A seasoned traveler & photographer, Nikt has covered exotic countries from the Middle East to Spain. Nikt traveled extensively and has many exciting experiences to share in photographing documentary stories and travel guide books. He will also give a preview about an ongoing street photography project on Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle.

All About NIKT WONG
Nikt is a freelance documentary photographer whose core theme of work focuses on elements of human interest and cultural education for a better understanding of humanity. In 2002 he began a career in freelance magazine photography and became involved in photo-documenting social issues and since then his work has graced several covers for The News Straits Times Sunday magazine, Action Asia and Marie Claire. His work with corporate clients includes brands like Fear Factor, Discovery Channel, AXN, and ESPN. He has also worked with NGOs in many diverse regions – For UNHCR and TRO on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Tamil Tiger controlled communities in Sri Lanka, MERCY Malaysia’s medical and humanitarian assistance in the earthquake disaster city of Bam, Iran and also a project concerning the social development of Azerbaijan, 13 years after Russian independence. In 2004 he embarked on a long term project documenting Sufi culture in Afghanistan and also a project on Kalbelian women gypsies in India. He is also currently working on a social documentation involving communities within the KL Golden triangle.
