About Khen Lim
Khen Lim is a naturalised Australian who was born in Malaysia forty-six years ago. A graduate of Deakin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, majoring in Journalism and Media Studies, Khen has had considerable years spent in corporate life, working for a number of the world’s leading companies. During his contractual tenure at Olympus Optical Co. Ltd., Khen was directly under the guidance and leadership of Yoshihisa Maitani in the Camera Division at Shinju-ku as well as Hachioji and Ina. In the many years at the company, Khen worked on a number of projects, some of which were significant from a development and industry aspect where he worked alongside Yasuo Asakura, who eventually went on to establish the Four-Thirds architecture, the world’s first and only pure digital imaging standard for still cameras. Khen’s working experiences covered other industries as well, from fragrance (Estée Lauder Australia) to automobiles (Honda Australia) and then to computing (Netpoint International). And prior to these, his short stints as a journalist for Bellarine Echo and the Geelong Advertiser. Khen came to Malaysia in 1997 and established XIOS-RDG Computing Solutions when eventually became XIOS Network Solutions, an IBM Business Partner consulting company for the legal practice industry. After having left in 1992, Khen made a partial return fourteen years later to the camera industry and re-signed an NDA contract with the Research Centre of Olympus Imaging Corporation, coinciding with the founding of Focus Five Malaysia, the country’s first Olympus-based interest group. This year will see the group going fully online.
